Hogwarts Legacy is an action RPG set in the 1800s wizarding world, inviting players to experience life as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Unlike other students, the protagonist is a fifth-year who joins the school with a unique and mysterious connection to ancient magic—a rare and powerful force that has long been forgotten. This newfound ability draws them into a larger conflict that threatens the magical world.
The story begins as the protagonist travels to Hogwarts with Professor Eleazar Fig, who serves as their mentor. During their journey, they are attacked by a dragon and narrowly escape. A magical Portkey transports them to ancient ruins, where they discover traces of ancient magic and their unique ability to sense it. This discovery marks the start of their adventure and hints at a secret long buried within the wizarding world.
After arriving at Hogwarts, the protagonist is sorted into one of the four houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff. As they navigate these challenges, the protagonist forms alliances with classmates who play key roles in their journey. These include Sebastian Sallow, a Slytherin willing to explore forbidden magic to save his sister; Natty Onai, a brave Gryffindor fighting for justice; and Poppy Sweeting, a compassionate Hufflepuff with a deep love for magical creatures. These relationships shape the protagonist’s decisions and provide vital support during the trials they face.
